Our Story
In 1964, Ed and Margie Imo opened the first Imo's Pizza in St. Louis, Missouri, with a simple dream: to create the perfect pizza that would bring families together. What started as a small neighborhood pizzeria quickly became a St. Louis institution.
Ed Imo revolutionized pizza by introducing the now-famous Provel cheese—a unique blend of cheddar, Swiss, and provolone that melts perfectly on our signature ultra-thin, cracker-crisp crust. This combination became the foundation of what we now know as St. Louis-style pizza.
Today, over 60 years later, Imo's Pizza continues to serve the same authentic recipes that made us famous, using only the freshest ingredients and our secret Provel cheese blend that you can't find anywhere else.
